Meet Ben
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (License #17485) and I’ve been practicing full-time in the Triangle area of North Carolina since 2022. I completed my MS in Counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and prior to that, I worked in the clinical research field for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). I came to this work through my own experiences in therapy, and see it as part of a homeward journey we are all traveling in one way or another. For me, this journey is the great adventure of being human, and it’s a privilege to accompany others on their path.
My style is warm and collaborative, and I strive to balance a sense of spaciousness, personal contact, and structure in my work with clients. In addition to my formal training, I also draw heavily on nearly 15 years of contemplative and meditation practice in a variety of traditional and contemporary paths. These approaches inform my conviction that we as humans have goodness at our core, and we are able to experience wholeness even when we have been deeply hurt or wounded.
Above all, I have also been the recipient of great kindness and compassion from many healers, teachers, and therapists myself. I hope that in my work I am able to pass along some of the benefit and wisdom I have received.
